"Community Development Block Grant"
program. This program distributes federal

Contra
Costa County, California - Community Development
Department - Current Planning
The
Current Planning Department manages urban
planning and compliance issues on large housing
development projects in the County. It is
responsible for shepherding large projects
through the complicated land use, zoning and
environmental issues that impact such projects.
Regulations in this area are extremely complex
and ensuring compliance with applicable rules is
a costly and burdensome process both for county
planners and developers. Contra Costa County contracted
with The Ergo Group, Inc. the development of a
conceptual framework to facilitate the
identification of applicable rules to specific
permit types and a information system to track
the entire permit approval process.
